Partner profiles
IntelliSense.io is a Scientific AI scale-up serving the mining, metals and circular economy sectors, and a recognised leader in Industrial IoT, machine learning and agent-driven AI. Its real-time decision-making platform, brains.app, runs at 26 installations across four continents, including some of the world’s largest miners, and has delivered a €96.74 M increase in net-metal production, a 16% reduction in chemicals and 3.5 GWh (2,480 tCO₂e) of energy savings.
Role in BRACE
Project coordinator, technology provider and commercialisation partner. IntelliSense leads the go-to-market strategy (WP0), project management (WP1) and discovery and specification (WP3), and brings brains.app and its applications to BRACE.
SE&C is an independent research and innovation SME working towards sustainable development in energy, environment, transport, ICT, tourism and urban mobility. It combines four service lines (project management, life cycle analysis, knowledge transfer, and communication & design) with a growing network of research centres, universities, industry and innovative SMEs across Europe.
Role in BRACE
Leads communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement (WP2), conducts the environmental assessment of BRACE (WP5), and supports the coordinator with administrative and financial project management as an experienced EIT partner.
Sunlight Group is a world-leading technology company in energy storage solutions. It has commissioned a fully operational lithium battery recycling pilot plant with a nominal capacity of 500 tonnes per year: modular, highly versatile units that handle cells, modules, packs and manufacturing scrap of any chemistry, including LFP, NMC, LTO and LMFP.
Role in BRACE
End user and technology validator. Sunlight hosts the deployment and validation of BRACE at its pilot plant in Xanthi, Greece, laying the foundation for commercial upscaling.
Founded in 1765, TU Bergakademie Freiberg is Germany’s historic “Ressourcen-Universität”, with around 4,400 students and a focus on resource management, sustainable raw-material technologies and circular economy strategies. Its Institute of Nonferrous Metallurgy and Purest Materials (INEMET) researches zero-waste hydro- and pyrometallurgical processes and the recycling of critical and high-tech metals.
Role in BRACE
Supports the development and validation of BRACE with expertise in hydrometallurgy and circular practices, prepares training and education materials, and leads dissemination of results to the academic community.
How the partners connect
Together the partners cover every link needed to take BRACE from a proven mining technology to a market-ready solution for battery recyclers.

How we work
A shared collaboration platform, a risk register reviewed twice a year and continuous KPI monitoring keep the project on track.
Coordination
IntelliSense coordinates BRACE and is responsible for overall delivery, quality assurance and reporting to EIT RawMaterials. Each work package is led by a consortium member who reports monthly.
Quarterly
At least one representative from every partner meets quarterly, online or in person, to keep the consortium aligned with the work plan.
Every two weeks
IntelliSense, Sunlight and TUBAF oversee operational integration, platform deployment and validation, meeting every two weeks during critical phases.

Funding
BRACE is funded under the EIT RawMaterials Acceleration programme (Upscaling). EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union, is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide.
We welcome recyclers, technology providers, researchers and investors interested in BRACE.
